3DsoundSurge FAQ Manager Version 1.0
  • F.A.Q: Sound Blaster Live!

A growing collection of questions and answers for Creative Labs 10K1 based cards including the original Live and Live Value, the MP3+, the X-Gamer, the Player 1024 and the Platinum. Our FAQ is intended to supplement but not replace Creative's own extensive FAQs.

    11. I have one of the original Sound Blaster Live! Value cards. Will Creative be releasing a version of the LiveDrive or LiveDrive 2 that can connects to my card? - Top

Unfortunately not. Only Sound Blaster Live! customers can take advantage of the LiveDrive (because of the different expansion headers on the Live and Live Value - the Live header supports more)

If you currently have a Live!Value and want a digital connection, you can do one of 2 things: they can purchase one of the new cards with the digital out connector or purchase Hoontec's upgrade board. Creative does offer a daughter board that offers digital in and out as well as optical in and out (which connects to Live!Value cards) Unfortunately, they are currently out of stock but expect to see them available some time in mid December. - Updated: October 31, 1999
