  • F.A.Q: Sound Blaster Live!

A growing collection of questions and answers for Creative Labs 10K1 based cards including the original Live and Live Value, the MP3+, the X-Gamer, the Player 1024 and the Platinum. Our FAQ is intended to supplement but not replace Creative's own extensive FAQs.

    21. My LW 3.0 - LAVA / Playcenter installation ends complaining about lack of disk space and I still have plenty of space. What do I do? - Top

Creative Labs' has updated their site with new information on this problem.

If you downloaded the LAVA! & PlayCenter (Package B) before 3 November, 1999 and encountered an "out of disk space" message during installation, please replace the previous downloaded version of DISK 2 (lvpccab2.exe) with the current available version. Click here to download.

Please ensure that you have the following files in the same directory before proceeding with the installation. Run PCSETUP.EXE to begin.

    1. pcsetup.exe
    2. lvpccab1.exe
    3. lvpccab2.exe

If you still have problems you can try the possible fixes that we previously had in this FAQ:

  • Try to clean out your TEMP directory.
  • Disable IntelliMouse if it's running as we have seen it cause trouble with some InstallShield applications.
  • If the install fails to launch after the uncompressing check to see if you have a file named setup.ex_ in your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\LW3\AUDIO\ENGLISH\SETUP folder and rename it to setup.exe. Then try to run it.
  • Try booting up in safe mode and then installing. Its worked for some people. - Updated: December 1, 1999
