  • F.A.Q: Vortex 2 Technical Support FAQ

A collection of technical support questions and answers for soundcards based on Aureal's Vortex 2 chip. Many questions and answers are provided courtesy of Aureal but are not the official position of Aureal Inc.

    8. ERRORS: What is the bass problem I’ve heard about on the Vortex 2-based cards? - Top

There was an issue that occured where the bass output dramatically drops only when the sound card is in quad mode with a number of 4 speaker systems.

This issue has been corrected in all driver releases since the 2030 beta drivers. If you have not already done so, upgrade to the latest drivers. Note that Diamond's MX300 drivers and Turtle Beach's Quadzilla drivers are still based on 2016 driver build. In addition reference drivers are not compatible with the Turtle Beach Quadzilla in 4 speaker mode. - Updated: November 30, 1999
