    Anandtech has posted a detailed review of Apple's new iPod. It's a very positive review even though they consider it to offer an evolutionary rather than revolutionary improvement compared to the original iPod as well as the competition.

  • Spatializer Audio Laboratories Holds Annual Stockholders Meeting
    Spatializer Audio Laboratories held its annual stockholders' meeting on Friday June 13th. After the formal meeting was adjourned, Spatializer Chairman and CEO Henry R. Mandell reviewed the past year's performance and outlined its challenges and opportunities for the coming year. The company's five existing pathways of targeted growth were identified as virtual surround, speaker enhancement, headphone enhancement, Spatializer Interactive and consulting services.

    Spatializer Interactive (SI) brings Spatializer Audio Laboratories' renowned expertise and focus on psychoacoustic audio in the consumer electronics market to PC manufacturers and Internet content providers alike, resulting in business partnerships that deliver meaningful product solutions that improve Internet and PC-based audio. SI, through its products, sales programs and relationships intends to build a value network between consumers, manufacturers and content providers that will be the bridging facilitator for the home computing and entertainment convergence.

    Spatializer's fiscal 2002 revenues were $1,856,000, compared to $1,604,000 in 2001, an increase of 16%. Net income for fiscal 2001 was $18,000, or $0.00 per share, compared to net loss of ($240,000, or ($0.01) per share, in the prior year. Stockholder's equity and working capital were stable at $1.4 million and $1.1 million, respectively.

  • Boston Acoustics Announces Fourth Quarter Results
    Boston Acoustics has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and the fiscal year ended March 29, 2003. Net sales for the quarter were $13.4 million compared to $20.6 million for the same period a year ago, a decrease of $7.2 million or 35%. The Company reported net income for the quarter of $419,000 compared to $1.5 million for the corresponding period last year. Although the Company had net income for the fourth quarter, it incurred an operating loss during the quarter of approximately $2.6 million.

    Net sales for the fiscal year decreased to $70.6 million compared to $85.3 million for the same period a year ago. Net income for the year was $1.8 million compared to $3.9 million a year ago. You can find more details in the full press release.
