Multi-speaker 3D technology to be unveiled at GDC
Multi-Drive Technology, a patented multi-speaker implementation of
Sensauras 3D Positional Audio technology, is to be unveiled at the forthcoming Games
Developer Conference (San Jose Convention Center, CA, March 15-19, 1999).
Sensaura MultiDrive uses patented Sensaura transaural crosstalk
cancellation algorithms, which ensure optimal performance. As a result multi-speaker
system owners are not restricted to experiencing flat, 2D sound panning, but can instead
enjoy the full benefits of true immersive 3D audio.
MultiDrive offers better azimuth sound placement, vertical and
horizontal placement and a sweet spot which is more tolerant to changes to the
game players position.
Sensaura Chief Scientist, Alastair Sibbald explains, " The
frontal and rearward sound-hemispheres are seamlessly integrated together, such that any
number of virtual sound sources can be made to move around the listener, controlled by
DirectSound3D."
Sensaura 3D Positional Audio will be on display between 15th
19th March 1999, at the Games Developers Conference, San Jose, CA, in
conjunction with ESS Technology at booth no. 1802.
Private pre-arranged demonstrations will also be conducted in the
Sensaura Meeting Room (4419).
