| BRISBANE, Calif.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--July 28, 2000--Maximum PC magazine will publish two special issues this fall: The
Power User Handbook, the annual PC power reference guide, and Music and Audio, which will
be devoted entirely to PC-related music and audio technologies. The special issues reflect
the broad interests of the tech savvy Maximum PC readers and the expertise of the Maximum
PC editors. Building on the interest in the 1999 Holiday Gift Guide special issue, The Power User Handbook brings together the best PC and PC-related products with in-depth editorial focusing exclusively on PC power. Music and Audio follows on the success of the Imagine Media January 2000 one-shot, Digital Musician, and the Maximum PC February 2000 MP3 issue, which was one of the best sellers of the year, selling 7% above average on newsstands. ``The Power User Handbook is our chance to devote an entire issue to our die-hard tweakers and upgrade addicts by packing all the essential upgrade, tweaking, hardware and software tips and tricks into one issue,'' states Sean Downey, editor of the Power User Handbook. `` It will be their reference guide for the year to come.'' Music and Audio will provide the PC enthusiast with all the information and tools he or she needs for playing, recording, and creating music on the PC with optimum performance. It will feature a roundup of MP3's, a list of the top 50 MP3 sites, music recording and creating how-tos, and extensive hardware and software reviews. And in Imagine Media style, the publication will come with a fully loaded CD-ROM. Kris Fong, editor of Music and Audio, adds, ``With lightning-fast advances in PC technology, the home computer system is quickly replacing the home stereo system and many professional recording and creating technologies. Maximum PC Music and Audio is the only magazine to directly address the needs of the PC enthusiast in this area. These will fly off the newsstands.'' ``The Maximum PC special issues are highly vertical to meet the needs of our readers who have specialized interests and who look to Maximum PC for all their PC and PC-related tech information,'' states Chris Coelho, publisher of Maximum PC. ``Since our editors are as passionate about PC technology as our readers are, the one-shots provide the very latest tech information with extremely broad and deep editorial coverage.''
