Electronics UK to bring DVD with quality surround sound audio to the home user. Samsung's
new DVD-811 is now available with VideoLogic's DigiTheatre LC surround sound speaker
system to provide amazing Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. This DVD Digital Home Theatre System is
available now from Samsung for £399 (RRP inc. VAT). Says

DVD-811
Samsung became DVD market leaders in the UK with the hugely successful DVD-709 and DVD-909
designs, the former achieving classic status as the first truly affordable good-quality
DVD player. Samsung is building on this success with the DVD-811, which offers 24-bit,
96kHz audio DAC, 10-bit video DAC, S-Video outputs, twin Scart sockets and playback
features such as variable-speed replay and joystick-controlled zoom. The DVD-811
represents the most affordable route to acquire the latest high-end home cinema features.
It features a built-in Dolby Digital (AC-3) decoder and its rear panel sports six analogue
outputs for direct connection to the DigiTheatre LC speakers (or an AV amplifier).
DigiTheatre LC
Based on VideoLogic's multi-award winning DigiTheatre speakers, DigiTheatre LC is a high
quality speaker system designed to complement any DVD player with in-built Dolby Digital
or DTS 5.1 decoders. The DigiTheatre LC speaker system contains six integrated amplifiers,
removing the need for the costly and bulky external amplifiers typical of most home cinema
audio set-ups. DigiTheatre LC provides powerful satellite speakers for all channels,
including dedicated centre and sub speakers.
The front speakers have a separate tweeter and mid-range cone and
the centre and surround speakers have full frequency drive units. The subwoofer contains
all the necessary power supplies and six channel amplifier. DigiTheatre LC's compact
satellites have been designed with ease of mounting in mind.
DigiTheatre LC uses the same speakers and integrated amplifiers as
VideoLogic's original DigiTheatre speaker system, which has won numerous awards including,
DVD Review Best For Value, What Video & TV Best Buy, Computer Buyer Recommended and
DVD Buyer Best For Value. By removing the decoder box from the original DigiTheatre and
making the amplifier and speaker components available separately, DigiTheatre LC provides
the lowest cost entry to full 5.1 home cinema sound.
