E-MU/Ensoniq Qualifies AudioRaid and AudioRack Storage Systems for Use With PARIS Digital Audio Workstation

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2000--Medea Corp. today announced that E-MU/ENSONIQ has qualified Medea's high-speed, low-cost AudioRaid® and AudioRack® scsi disk arrays for use with PARIS®, the company's award-winning 24-bit digital audio workstation (DAW).

AudioRaid and AudioRack arrays are designed to support professional-level DAWs at a fraction of the cost of competing audio storage solutions -- as low as $15/GB (street price).

``PARIS is a very powerful and cost-effective professional level DAW,'' said Roger S. Mabon, director of marketing at Medea. ``E-MU/ENSONIQ'S qualification of our AudioRaid and AudioRack disk arrays is a significant endorsement for Medea from a leader in audio editing solutions. But the real winners are PARIS users looking for affordable storage solutions that support the playback of up to 128-tracks of audio.''

AudioRaid and AudioRack scsi disk arrays, available in four- and eight-drive configurations, are optimized to support the demands placed on storage systems by today's professional DAWs. Medea's proprietary Audio Stripe Technology (AST) and integrated hardware RAID controller enable 4-drive AudioRaid and AudioRack to support 64-tracks of 24-bit/96KHz audio. The eight-drive versions can be used with a dual-channel SCSI host adapter to support up to 128-tracks. AudioRaid and AudioRack arrays are equipped with an Ultra2 SCSI Low Voltage Differential (LVD) interface that allows SCSI cable lengths to 12 meters and burst data transfer rates up to 80 MB/second.

PARIS is a 24-bit digital audio workstation that provides users with all of the hardware and software needed to record, edit and mix digital audio professionally. Together with a 16 channel control surface, 128-track playback, 64 bands of parametric EQ and a host of I/O options, PARIS gives users the most complete integrated digital audio solution on the market today at an affordable price.

``Medea's AudioRaid and AudioRack storage systems are an excellent solution to getting the maximum power from your PARIS System, making the most powerful DAW on the planet even more flexible,'' stated PARIS Product Manager Max Mobley.
