Aureal Announces Record Date for Rights Offering

 
Fremont, CA – April 20, 1999 – (AURL: OTC Bulletin Board) Aureal Semiconductor Inc., leaders in digital audio imaging, today announced the record date for its previously announced $20 million subscription rights offering as April 22, 1999. Stockholders will receive, at no cost, a right to buy one share of common stock at a price of $0.60 for approximately every two shares of common stock that they own on April 22, 1999. In addition, stockholders may oversubscribe for, or offer to purchase, additional shares.

Funds and accounts managed by Oaktree Capital Management LLC and TCW Special Credits have agreed to purchase any shares otherwise not subscribed for in the offering up to the total $20 million offering.

The subscription rights documents and related prospectus will be distributed to stockholders in the near future. The offering will terminate on May 21, 1999.
