Dialog(TM) Series Enables Use of a Single Headset for Phone And Internet Communication |
|
VANCOUVER, Wash., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on
its worldwide leadership in PC Voice Access(TM), Labtec (OTC Bulletin
Board: LABT - news), a leading provider of high-technology peripherals
and accessories for computing, communication and entertainment, today
announced its entry into the telephony products market with the
introduction of its Dialog(TM) Series of Telephone and PC Headset
Systems. The systems are designed for hands-free communications,
allowing users to conveniently switch between their telephone and PC
using a single headset.
Suggested retail prices of the Dialog(TM)-301 and Dialog(TM)-501 are $49.99 and $69.99, respectively. Comparable systems from traditional brands in the telephony market are up to five times more expensive. ``As part of the convergence of the PC and phone, we are seeing explosive growth in free Internet telephony and other Voice-over-IP applications as well as continuing growth in PC voice recognition and voice command. The Dialog Series is only the beginning,'' said Bob Wick, Labtec's president and CEO. ``With an extremely aggressive pricing strategy, successful history in PC Voice Access and a strategic plan for future products, I believe Labtec will immediately establish a position in the telephony market as the high-value brand.'' The Dialog(TM) Series allows users of virtually any corded telephone to carry on hands-free phone conversations or conduct various PC-based applications, including Internet voice chat, video conferencing, multi-player Internet gaming or speech recognition & dictation -- all through one headset and amplifier. Ideal for home or office use, the Dialog's monaural headsets allow users to hear peripheral sounds such as family or coworkers. The Dialog-301 includes a lightweight headset with adjustable boom microphone and a battery-operated adapter -- batteries included. The Dialog-501 includes a headset with microNCAT2(TM) microphone technology and features a swing-out ``memory'' microphone that easily swings out of and returns to its ideal position, eliminating constant repositioning. Its phone amplifier includes an AC adapter. Both headsets feature an ambidextrous design for left- or right-side positioning. The amplifiers can be linked to a single or multi-line phone and PC simultaneously. With easy-to-read icons and color-coded jacks, setup and operation are simple. Features include a phone-to-PC toggle, talk/mute button, headset-to-handset switch and volume controls for the headset earphones and microphone. In addition, each amplifier features an automatic shut-off while in battery operation mode to conserve power when not in use. About Labtec, Inc.
