Logitech Takes Sound to the Xtreme -- Introducing the SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100

Powerful Yet Affordable 100-Watt, Digital Surround Sound Speaker System Now Available

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2001--Logitech (NASDAQ:LOGIY); (Switzerland:LOGN, LOGZ) is cranking up its SoundMan speaker lineup with the release of its flagship product, SoundMan® Xtrusio(TM) DSR-100. At a suggested retail price of $179.95, SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100 can be purchased online at http://www.logitech.com and at a limited number of retail outlets.

SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100 delivers 100 watts of bone-jarring sound to games and DVD movies on the PC. Utilizing patented LIMAD(TM) (Linear Magnetic Drive) technology, DSR-100 provides high-fidelity sound reproduction from full, deep bass to soaring highs.

SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100's four-channel digital surround sound system offers world-class industrial design, with a sleek extruded aluminum subwoofer and four satellite speakers whose stylish, contemporary shape represents a pleasing change from the rigid, institutional look of competing systems.

SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100 features a subwoofer that is made of a strong aluminum composite. By using this material, Logitech has been able to design the subwoofer to deliver superb sound quality without compromising on appearance. To further enhance the listening experience, SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100 is compatible with all digital and analog four-channel, digital PCM stereo, and analog stereo audio sources.

SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100 also features the SoundTouch(TM) remote with master volume dial, fader control, on/standby button, LED power indicator and a convenient headphone jack. A built-in power supply and two-year warranty are both standard features.

SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100 comes bundled with PowerDVD(TM) software, which plays back high-quality Dolby Digital surround sound from DVD movies. A standard feature found only on Xtrusio DSR-100, PowerDVD has a retail value of $49 when purchased separately.

``Years of thorough research and testing have gone into the development of Xtrusio DSR-100. The ensemble combines a never-before-seen subwoofer design, unsurpassed sound quality and a compelling feature set, which together make it the best listening solution available for the PC at the best price,'' said Wolfgang Hausen, senior vice president and general manager of Logitech's Control Devices Division.

SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100, along with the other speaker solutions in the SoundMan family, include the Soundmobile.com(TM) CD-ROM. Powered by EMusic.com®, this CD-ROM offers a $10 value of MP3 songs and a variety of digital music and multimedia software. Specifically, the SoundMan Xtrusio DSR-100 is endorsed by the following digital audio providers: EMusic.com, Kool Karaoke, MAGIX®, MusicMatch®, QSound® and SoundJam(TM).
