To perfectly complement this outstanding bass performance, Yamaha has provided the MS55D with a pair of two-way satellite speakers, each of which features a 3/4-inch dome-style tweeter mounted above a 3-inch spruce cone mid-range driver. This arrangement delivers a smooth frequency response coupled with an extremely rich and well-defined stereo image, enhanced by an elegant slant-baffle design.

In addition, the MS55D supports audio connections via both USB and traditional analog inputs, making the system fully compatible and easy to set up with almost all computer systems. For improved ergonomics and added convenience, Yamaha has included the power switch and a standard headphone jack to one of the satellite speakers of the MS55D.

Available in both Platinum White (MS55DW) and Calypso Black (MS55DB), the MS55D's satellite and subwoofer enclosures are also magnetically shielded. This allows the system to be placed close to computer monitors and other magnetically sensitive equipment without risk of malfunction.
