LAS VEGAS, CES BOOTH #1000,
Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today unveiled nearly 75 new
products for home and mobile entertainment, designed to provide a connected world of
convenience and entertainment for consumers. The company offers a growing line of
universal plug and play ``smart'' products that are compatible and equipped with the
ability to communicate with each other, bringing to life the concept of Entertainment
Anywhere, Anytime. Highlights of the new product line-up include:
-- The Digital Library that stores, plays and streams digital music,
digital video clips and digital photos throughout the home network.
-- A prototype of Pioneer's next generation DVD recorder for home
entertainment and an array of DVD recording computer drives used by
manufacturers including Apple, Compaq and Sony.
-- PureVision Plasma televisions that offer crystal-clear high
definition images with media receivers that have built-in NTSC tuners
and speakers in 43" and 50" diagonal. Also a prototype 61" high
definition plasma display.
-- CD players that change the mobile environment by offering hard disc
space for storing digital music, MP3 and Windows Media Audio
playback, and ultra-bright Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) displays.
-- XM Digital Satellite Tuners that can work with any current car
stereo.
-- In-car Visual/Audio system with a central "brain" to control all
components of the system in a single, compact unit.
-- CD from Grammy-nominated vocalist Oleta Adams, "All The Love"
expected to top the charts when released on February 12, 2002.
-- A truly universal DVD player that offers playback of DVD-Video,
DVD-Audio and Multi-channel SACD.

Several vehicles will be on display within the booth including a 2002 Ford F-150 Truck with a complete Visual/Audio system and a 2002 Acura RSX decked out in Pioneer's exotic new REV series speakers. Pioneer will unveil a 12-panel Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) dashboard that showcases the future of automotive display technologies in a full-width instrument panel developed for the Lincoln Continental Concept vehicle. The dashboard uses OEL technology in the driver's gauge cluster as well as the displays for engine functions, vehicle systems, audio, telematics and concierge information. OEL offers a high contrast display with vivid colors and sharp imagery, making it ideal for operating in bright sunlight while also offering the functionality and endurance required for automotive use. Award Winning Products Pioneer will accept Innovations Awards from the Consumer Electronics Industry for nine digital products including a best of category award for its DVD-based navigation system, the AVIC-9DVD.
