| CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2002--QSound Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ:QSND), a prominent supplier of audio
software solutions, today announced that Thomson Multimedia will incorporate QSound's
QSurround(TM) technologies via Zoran's Vaddis(TM) 4.0 AC3 Decoder into two new home
electronics products - a 27`` television (model # B27TF680), and an undercounter LCD TV
with DVD and AM-FM (model #BLD548). The 27`` television has been in production since October 2001, while the undercounter unit will begin production in early March 2002. ``We are very pleased to have QSurround incorporated into these product lines,'' said David Gallagher, President, CEO, QSound Labs. ``It's an honour to add Thomson to the list of industry leaders who utilize QSound's 3D audio technology in their consumer electronics.'' QSurround provides virtual surround sound for a variety of consumer electronic and PC/multimedia applications. QSurround's remarkable sonic rendering allows the enjoyment of surround-encoded material in a two-speaker environment by using 3D audio techniques to create ``virtual speakers'' in the room. QSurround is currently available in DVD players from Sharp and AIWA, television sets from Sanyo and Toshiba, and in the critically acclaimed Acoustic Edge(TM) Sound card from Philips.
