San
Jose, CA. -- Sept. 20, 2002 -- BAM! Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq:
BFUN) announced today that Analog Device's advanced Audio
Rendering Technology, SoundMAX® SPX, has been incorporated
into vehicle-based stunt game Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver
for the Xbox video game system. SoundMAX SPX's
"animated audio" - interactive, event-driven sounds
that respond to game physics, environmental variables and user
input - allows for hyper-realistic sound effects in Chase's
Hollywood setting of multimillion dollar sets, special
effects, huge explosions and amazing stunts. Developed
by South African-based developer I-Imagine and published by
BAM! Entertainment, Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver will hit
retail shelves next week with an MSRP of $49.99.
"Considering
all the effort we've put into creating diverse vehicles and
settings for Chase, we were not about to settle for flat,
static audio," said Dan Wagner, Managing Director,
I-Imagine. "SoundMAX SPX gave us the power to mold
each individual movie setting into a truly unique
situation."
Chase:
Hollywood Stunt Driver follows the career of Chase Corrada, a
sexy young stuntwoman starting her promising career as an
action movie stunt driver. Players will have to hit
their marks as they attempt jumps, smash through props and
race through sets in order to please the director before
moving onto the next action-packed stunt. With four unique
movie sets and a variety of vehicles, Chase promises
heart-pounding action and spectacular movie-style special
effects.
"Chase
is a perfect vehicle for SoundMAX SPX," said Beth
Doherty, director of business development, Analog Devices,
Inc. "By applying our audio technology to their
excellent concept, I-Imagine has created one of the most
dynamic titles of the year. Our tools helped them to quickly
produce Hollywood quality sound effects while giving the audio
programmer full control over every sonic aspect."
"Both
I-Imagine and Analog Devices are committed to taking full
advantage of the Xbox's technical capabilities, and it really
shows with this title," said Alain Tascan, vice president
of worldwide product development, BAM! Entertainment.
"Chase excels in the areas of both graphics and audio,
which serves to take an already great game and converting it
into an amazing stunt driver gaming experience."
