| TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 9
/PRNewswire/ -- Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of
high performance mobile electronics, today announced additions to its AlpineF#1Status(TM)
benchmark car audio system with the upcoming delivery of an ultimate fidelity 4-channel
amplifier, a three-way component and two-way single speaker systems. All AlpineF#1Status
products are designed to deliver the absolute best sound quality by overcoming the unique
problems of in-car sound reproduction with precision sound field adjustment, sound image
contouring and acoustical correction. For all AlpineF#1Status products, Alpine engineers dedicate themselves to a philosophy of creating unmatched sound quality and engineering precision in the products, in order to address the unique challenges of the in-car sound environment. The technical development and detail-oriented research for these ultra premium products, named "Micro Dynamics(TM)," has established a new platform for all of Alpine's engineering standards. AlpineF#1Status products have been recognized with accolades worldwide for their outstanding sound quality, unrivaled engineering and superior design. In 2003, Alpine continues its commitment to the AlpineF#1Status philosophy with the introduction of the CES Innovations Award-winning SPX-Z18T 3-way component speaker system and SPX-Z15M single channel 2-way speaker system. Technological advancements for these speaker systems include the car audio industry's first "ring radiator" tweeter design and a complex, yet flexible crossover network with over 1,000 tuning combinations with the SPX-Z18T and more than 500 with the SPX-Z15M. Alpine's MRV-F900 four-channel amplifier will also debut this year, bringing a combination of advanced technology and ultra high-fidelity power to the AlpineF#1Status family. The MRV-F900 was engineered with a high efficiency true double stage power supply and two 70mm Toroidal Transformers delivering a highly stable power supply. A six-layer PCB design delivers the purest signal possible and use of the industry's largest triple Darlington Bi- Polar Transistors ensures the most accurate reproduction of music possible. "AlpineF#1Status represents Alpine's no-compromise commitment to deliver the absolute best sounding mobile systems in the world," said Steve Witt, Alpine's vice president of Brand Marketing. "With the research and development behind AlpineF#1Status, we have learned how to better engineer digital audio technologies that we can apply to our main line of products each year, ensuring that the Alpine brand always represents 'the highest quality' to our customers." At CES 2003, Alpine unveiled a 2002 Mercedes Benz AMG S55 to showcase the AlpineF#1Status products. The combination of the AMG S55 and AlpineF#1Status products creates an impressive example of superior automotive engineering paired with the absolute finest sound design available today. The AMG S55, built by Alpine of Japan, has a CDA-7990 head unit, PXA-H900 Multimedia Manager (TM) display controller, and TME-M790 motorized widescreen 7-inch monitor installed in the dash. Two TME-M760 6.5-inch widescreen monitors mounted in the headrests bring video entertainment to the rear seat passengers. Three MRV-F900 amps are mounted in the base of the trunk (with a fourth hidden from view) and are framed with the same wood trim that is used in the car's interior. A custom-made cover can be used to protect the amps and allows the trunk to be used for storage. The amps power a complete set of SPX-Z18T speakers in the front doors, plus two each of the midrange and tweeters from the SPX-Z18T in the rear deck and one midrange and tweeter from the SPX-Z18T in the center dash. A pair of SPX-Z15M speakers in the rear doors and a SWR-1041D 10-inch subwoofer in the trunk also receive power from the amps. The heart of the AMG's system is the PXA-H900 Multimedia Manager digital processor, through which the entire audio system is routed, bringing the full AlpineF#1Status experience to life. The PXA-H900 is mounted on the main wall of the trunk, while the DHA-S680 6-disc DVD/CD changer is on the trunk's side- wall; both products are also framed with wood trim. Rounding out the Alpine components is the NVE-N852A DVD PowerNav(TM) navigation system, which is installed next to the DHA-S680, but is hidden from view. The dedication and attention to detail bestowed upon the AlpineF#1Status products is not lost among the rest of Alpine's 2003 product lineup. While AlpineF#1Status represents the pinnacle of product performance for the company, audio enthusiasts will see this design methodology reflected in product cosmetics and internal circuit board design in many of Alpine's 2003 products. AlpineF#1Status products are sold only through a select group of certified Alpine dealers, all of whom have attended a two-day education session to learn about the products, their capabilities and their detailed installation requirements. AlpineF#1Status Accolades The first AlpineF#1Status(TM) products, the CDA-7990 CD tuner and the PXA- H900 Multimedia Manager(TM) digital processor, were introduced in 2001 and immediately established new benchmarks for performance and control in car audio. Acknowledged for their technical engineering and unrivaled sound quality, AlpineF#1Status products have gained worldwide accolades including: 9/00 Paris Motor Show "Car HiFi Grand Prix" Award; 2001 and 2002 United States CES "Innovations" Awards; 8/01 Daily Automotive News (Japan) "Best Automotive Product"; 8/01 European Imaging and Sound Association, Berlin Show "European Car Audio of the Year 2001-2002"; 10/01 Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization "Good Design Award."
