Media friendly national & ethnic music

8th March 2004 - Audio Network and Screen East today announced the completion of a unique fourteen-month project to record authentic national and ethnic music for use in film, television and multi-media productions.

Audio Network’s Commercial Director, Robert Hurst said “Producers of film and television programmes are increasingly looking for authentic yet media friendly sounds from around the world for use in their productions and we are, therefore, delighted to have the opportunity of promoting the new recordings as an integral part of our music library”

The National & Ethnic music recordings can be previewed at the Audio Network web-site at www.audiolicense.net.

The project was supported by an investment award from Screen East under the Regional Investment Fund for England supported by the Film Council.

Laurie Hayward, Chief Executive of Screen East said “The national and ethnic music project was a great opportunity for young musicians to work with Audio Network’s experienced team of writers and producers of film music and involved the services of more than sixty composers and musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds”

Audio Network represent nearly 100 UK based media composers including Evelyn Glennie, Terry Devine-King, Ian Hughes and John Dankworth and an Oscar winning team of Hollywood based sound designers.

Since winning the 2002 Dti beyond bricks new business of the year competition, Audio Network has released no less than 40,000 sound effects and commissioned nearly 5,000 brand new music tracks covering almost every conceivable style and genre of music as well as completing numerous bespoke commissioned music projects.

Igor Dvorkin, composer & world music consultant said “The Audio Network and Screen East national & ethnic music project helped integrate musicians such as myself from diverse ethnic backgrounds into the mainstream English and American film and television industries.”
