InterVideo to Unveil WinDVD-2K at Comdex

World's Top DVD Player Adds Skins to Its Arsenal

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 1999--InterVideo, Inc. (``IVI'') today announced that it would be demonstrating the latest generation of its award-winning software DVD player, WinDVD, at fall Comdex.

WinDVD-2K will include a host of new features, including skins technology, bookmarks, Internet access, pan and zoom ability and much more.

``In spite of the tremendous success of our 1st generation DVD player, we've found a host of areas where we could add additional value to our customer's experience,'' stated Joe Monastiero, VP of Sales and Marketing for InterVideo. ``WinDVD-2K's new features should continue to add distance between our flagship product and those of our competitors.''

WinDVD-2K's most unique new feature is its ability to allow the user to select from a variety of looks for the user interface. Skins technology has been made popular by some of the industry's MP3 players and InterVideo has brought that concept to DVD. InterVideo will provide a number of skins for users to select from and intends to publish unique user-submitted skins on its website, allowing users to share interesting designs with each other.

The new version will also include the ability to zoom in on a particular area in a scene and pan, or move around the zoomed window to other areas of the scene. Bookmarks have been added to allow users to save a location in a particular movie and to come back to that location at any time. Any number of bookmarks can be created and users will be able to create multiple bookmarks in a single movie, allowing them to play from one bookmark to another. Additionally, WinDVD's Media Playlist functionality has been enhanced to support drag and drop, shuffle play and sorting.

Web access has been enabled in WinDVD-2K. Users will be able to automatically install product updates and receive notification when new versions are available. Special web offers will be available exclusively to InterVideo customers from InterVideo business partners.

WinDVD-2K supports all of the latest hardware DVD acceleration products from companies like Nvidia, ATI, Intel, S3, SiS, SMI, Trident, VIA and NeoMagic. The software also has support for 4 and 6 channel sound cards from Creative Labs, Turtle Beach, Yamaha, Diamond Multimedia, Aureal and many more. Dolby Digital(TM) audio output to external consumer decoders is also supported, as is DTS(TM) output.

WinDVD has been adopted by a large number of OEMs as their DVD playback solution of choice. These customers include Compaq, Dell, Micron, 3Dfx, Creative Labs, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Acer, Canopus, Leadtek, Asus, Melco and many more. WinDVD has received logo certification by Microsoft's WHQL labs on numerous occasions, covering a wide variety of systems and components. The product supports Windows 95, 98, 98SE, NT4 and 2000, all on one CD. WinDVD is localized in 24 languages. It includes the ability to playback DVD, SVCD, VCD, MPEG1, MPEG2, MP3, AVI and AC3 files.

Fall Comdex takes place in Las Vegas November 15th thru 19th. InterVideo will be demonstrating WinDVD-2K, WinDVR and other new technologies in the LVCC at booth LSC03-04.
