| NOVATO, Calif.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1999--Sonic Solutions (Nasdaq:SNIC) announced today that Avid®
Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:AVID) will bundle Sonic's DVDit!(tm) SE authoring software with
the Avid Xpress(tm) DV on IBM IntelliStation® M Pro System, bringing for the first time
direct DVD publishing for Avid non-linear video editors. The Avid Xpress DV on IBM IntelliStation and DVDit! combination enables Avid Xpress DV users to publish their films, videos, presentations, training, or any other multimedia content on the popular DVD format. Short-duration projects can be recorded to CD-R or CD-RW and played on DVD-equipped PCs. ``DVD has become a universal format, and there is very strong interest among our users to create DVD-based interactive content,'' said Patrick Dumas, Avid's Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing. ``Sonic's revolutionary DVDit! is a great addition to our Avid Xpress DV product line because it allows our users to publish their high-quality video and audio content onto DVD.
