Aureal Vortex Sound Cards Chosen by Hewlett-Packard Company

Aureal Vortex2 SuperQuad and Vortex Advantage Chosen as Upsell

Option for HP Pavilion Home PC Build to Order Program

Fremont, CA - December 15, 1999 - (OTC Bulletin Board: AURL) Aureal Inc., a leader in digital audio imaging, today announced that Hewlett-Packard Company will include the Aureal's Vortex2 SuperQuad and Vortex Advantage sound cards as optional audio sub-systems for HP Pavilion brand desktop computers sold through its new Build to Order (BTO) program.

The HP Pavilion Home PC Build to Order program enables customers to go to any participating HP retailer, log in to a kiosk and configure their desired system quickly and easily.  Customers can also configure systems online at hpshopping.com.   HP's BTO program offers complete flexibility of choice over processor speed, memory, storage, video, and audio options.
