Boston Acoustics and CompUSA Team Up to Deliver Desk Top Audio Line Nationally

Boston Acoustics' Desk Top Audio(TM) products, including the BA635(TM), MicroMedia(TM) and MediaTheater(TM) systems, to be displayed and sold at 217 CompUSA stores nationwide

PEABODY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 1999-- Boston Acoustics today announced that CompUSA Inc. (NYSE:CPU), America's Largest Computer Superstore®, has selected to display and to sell Boston Acoustics complete line of multimedia audio products. Boston Acoustics' Desk Top Audio product line, including the BA635, MicroMedia and MediaTheater systems, will be carried at 217 CompUSA locations nationwide. This move provides Boston Acoustics' multimedia product line with unprecedented visibility at one of the top retail resellers of PC speakers in the United States.

``We have many customers seeking to upgrade to bigger monitors and better speakers,'' said John Lostroscio, Vice President, Hardware Merchandising, CompUSA. ``This demand for higher performance computer speakers continues to grow, and we're excited to offer Boston Acoustics' award-winning Desk Top Audio solutions to fulfill that need.''

``Most PCs, even inexpensive ones, have the ability to provide CD-quality sound, but most of the speakers they come with do not,'' said Andy Kotsatos, CEO of Boston Acoustics. ``A growing number of consumers are choosing to replace these pre-packaged speakers with better ones. Our new relationship with CompUSA dramatically increases our products' exposure and allows us both to reach people that want to upgrade.''

CompUSA will carry Boston Acoustics' complete line of multimedia products, including the BA635 @ $69.95 retail, MicroMedia @ $99.95 retail and MediaTheater @ $249.95 retail. All products will be immediately available at all CompUSA stores nationwide.
