EX-4 Receives 2000 International CES Innovations Design & Engineering Showcase Honors |
| CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.,
Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Benwin's EX-4 audio system wins a third award for innovative
product design. EX-4 is Benwin's latest futuristically designed, laser-tuned flat panel
multimedia speaker system. The International Consumer Electronics Show has recognized EX-4
for outstanding design and engineering innovations. An expert panel of judges, made up of
the trade press along with leading engineers and industrial designers, selected EX-4 out
of approximately 600 entries. This ultra-modern and uncoventional speaker system was
already featured as Product Design of the Year in Business Week, after receiving the 1999
award for Design Excellence from the Industrial Design Society of America. The EX-4 flat
panel system is also in the collection of The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and
Design, the result of being awarded their 1999 Good Design Award. Fast becoming one of the hottest new products for 2000, EX-4 has many unique features that can turn any computer system, CD player, portable radio or DVD player into a high tech audio system. EX-4 is a three-piece system, featuring a pair of ultra-modern 7mm wide flat panel satellite speakers. Power, volume and tone controls are conveniently located on the satellite speaker. This system also features a larger subwoofer and better sound quality than its predecessor, the BW2000. The futuristic look is further enhanced by the use of aerospace panel materials. The EX-4 is the world's first NXT-approved flat panel speaker designed and engineered in the United States. EX-4 is now in production and has a MSRP of $129.99 EX-4 will be demonstrated at the Winter 2000 International Consumer Electronics Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center booth #968. Also in Benwin's retro-futuristic booth (which looks like a landed space ship), will be the now famous purple-haired, hula-hooping Benwin Girls. Like last year, there will be a Hula-Hoop contest held every day of the show at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Winners receive a free flat panel multimedia speaker system. Benwin multimedia speaker systems are sold and distributed in the U.S. by Kwong Quest, LLC, headquartered in City of Industry, California. Kwong Fong Industries, the parent company of Kwong Quest, was founded in 1968 and had revenues exceeding $650 million last year. The company is listed in the Taiwan top 100 companies.
