Mixman Introduces Studio VST for Cubase(TM)

Mixman Remix Engine Brings Powerful Real-Time Loop Synchronizing, Multi-Effects Studio and D*Plate Remixing to Cubase Users

LOS ANGELES, Calif., NAMM 2000, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Mixman Technologies, a division of Beatnik Inc., today announced the new Mixman Studio VST, a loop-based sampling and remix Virtual Instrument for Steinberg Cubase VST sequencing software. Mixman Studio VST is the first professional-grade solution for both Mac and PC platforms to extend Mixman's leading tools and effects to the Cubase user community.

The new Mixman Studio VST seamlessly integrates Mixman's award-winning remix engine with Cubase VST. It provides a 16-track sampler that keeps all loops properly synchronized in tempo with Cubase while playing them in real-time -- without changing pitch. Mixman Studio VST also offers a multi-effects studio with more than 100 presets, and the ability to apply up to five individual effects per sample.

The new Mixman Studio VST speeds up the remixing process by enabling users to use macros ``snapshots'' of tracks, as well as trigger sounds using MIDI. It also saves processed sounds as new TRK files, which is ideal for mixing and producing Mixman D*Plates interactive songs.

``Mixman is thrilled to move into the professional market by creating a cutting-edge Cubase VST Virtual Instrument for Steinberg, the number one provider of music sequencing software,'' said Josh Gabriel, chief product officer of Beatnik and founder of Mixman Technologies. ``Now with the launch of Mixman Studio VST, Mixman and Beatnik together offer a comprehensive range of software and content that spans from consumer entertainment to professional tools, setting the stage for the future expansion of music and sound on the Internet.''

The Mixman Studio VST feature set was designed from the start to work seamlessly with Cubase and its VST 2.0 engine, which transforms a computer into a virtual recording studio. The Cubase integration of audio and MIDI recording makes it easy to combine the best of MIDI and digital audio using native processing. Cubase offers a complete solution, including quality audio effects that can be added later with an impressive selection of VST plug-ins.

``Cubase VST customers have been requesting a Mixman Virtual Instrument ever since the release of Mixman Studio Pro, and Steinberg is looking forward to distributing this exciting new product,'' said Rodney Orpheus, Steinberg's audio evangelist. ``Mixman Studio VST provides our users with an extensive new feature set that expands their musical options, bringing more choice and control to the creative process, and we think this will be a great addition to the Cubase VST product line.''

Mixman Technologies designs remix performance software for both the Mac and PC platforms. In addition, Mixman supports a web-based music community that provides customers of all ages and skill levels with the ability to interact, customize, control and perform music with professional quality tools. The company's product line includes a range of web-based and packaged software products, including Mixman Studio Pro, Mixman Studio, Mixman Studio Mac, Radio Mixman, over a dozen Soundiscs, professional multi-format audio CD-ROMS as well as a library of D*Plates downloadable for purchase from http://www.mixman.com .
