Iwill Ships Aureal Vortex Equipped PC Motherboard

Iwill Ships Aureal Vortex Equipped PC Motherboard
Motherboard Manufacturer Releases New Product With Built-In Aureal Vortex Audio Processor Featuring A3D Positional Audio Technology

FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Aureal Semiconductor Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AURL - news) today announced that Iwill Corporation, a leading Taiwanese PC motherboard manufacturer, has begun shipments of a motherboard product which integrates Aureal's award-winning Vortex® audio processor and A3D(TM) positional audio technology. The Iwill LE370 is currently available through retail and reseller channels.

The LE370 motherboard is designed for Intel's Pentium II Celeron processor in a 370-pin PPGA package in speeds ranging from 300 MHz to 533 MHz, and capable of moving to higher speeds in the future. An Aureal Vortex audio processor and supporting hardware will be built-in -- to deliver high-quality standard audio features as well as A3D positional audio for unsurpassed digital audio imaging.

The motherboard features other advanced features such as ``PC Health Monitoring'' through three onboard thermal sensors and a ``Jumper Inside'' user friendly BIOS configuration scheme. The motherboard features three 168-pin DIMM sockets, 8MB to 768MB of unbuffered ECC SDRAM, and will offer one AGP, five PCI, and two ISA expansion slots.

``By integrating Aureal's Vortex and A3D technologies into the LE370, Iwill is cost-effectively providing its customers with the best on-board audio possible,'' said Irene Shih, Iwill's Marketing Manager. ``Building an audio processing system into the motherboard improves audio performance, eliminates the need for a separate sound card, and frees up an additional PCI slot -- which is valuable real-estate for PC builders.''

``We're pleased to be working with Iwill to bring Aureal's Vortex and A3D to its customers,'' said Michael Hunter, Aureal's Vice President of Sales. ``Combining top audio technology with advanced CPU capabilities and excellent systems design will ensure a powerful computing platform for users of the Iwill LE370.''
