Installation:

ADA880_mid.jpg (4545 bytes)The ADA880 includes easy to follow instructions and all the cables and inputs are also clearly marked, making the installation extremely simple. You just connect each satellite to the colour coded inputs, connect the SPDIF coaxial (RCA) and/or analog input (stereo mini-jack) to your audio source and connect the amplifier/subwoofer to the power outlet. After that’s done you power on the system using the remote control or the buttons on the right front satellite.

When it comes to placement of the rear satellites it’s worth mentioning the system doesn’t come with any stands. As they don’t have any mounting holes, you will have to stick to pedestal style stands if you are shopping around for an after market product.

If you, for wiring or space considerations, can’t place the surround speakers behind you, you can as mentioned instead plug the rear satellites into the top of the front satellites. Before you dp that you have to remove the rear satellites from their base and remove the small plastic cover on top of the front sats. It’s very easy and doesn’t take more than a couple of minutes to perform the change.

The digital input can be used for Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic and stereo while the analog input can only accept Dolby Pro Logic and stereo, both the analog and digital inputs can be active at the same time.

As mentioned, you can control the volume of the surround, subwoofer and virtual center channel, but there’s no test button to see if you have the right balance. There are DVD discs available that help you to optimize your DVD system including the proper speaker balance. If you don’t want to buy one of these discs then you can download an AC3 test file from our server.
