Installation:
The
included Logitech Z-560 manual has easy to follow instructions for the
installation and setup, as well as tips for placement of the speakers.
Like most 4.1 multimedia systems, the installation is fairly simple even
though the number of cables may appear a bit messy. One thing I can’t
agree with in the manual is they recommend placing the subwoofer under
your desk. If you like exaggerated bass then that’s fine but for the
best quality most neutral bass you will be better of moving the Z-560 out
along a wall and away from corners of the room. That way you can come much
closer to neutral subwoofer response, despite the limited ability of the
control center to lower the minimum subwoofer level.
It's a matter of:
- Connecting the satellites to subwoofer/amplifier using the standard
bare wire spring clip connectors at one end and the binding post at
the other end. The 20 gauge wire lengths are1.83 m (6 foot) for the
front speakers and 4.57 m (15 foot) for the rear. Thanks to the use of
the standard bare wire connectors you can easily lengthen the cables
if necessary (which will be the case with the front speakers for
flexible subwoofer placement;
- Connecting the 2 permanently attached stereo mini-jack cables to the
sound card’s front and rear (optional) inputs. The cable length is 2
meters (6.56 feet) coming from the control center. If you want even
more flexibility you can buy standard stereo mini-jack extension
cables.
- Attaching the control module to the rear of the subwoofer via the
DIN connection at the end of the 2 meter (6.56 foot) cable.
- Connecting the amplifier to an outlet using the supplied standard 6
foot / 1.8 m AC cord;
- Correctly placing the satellites. As previously mentioned you can
reverse the desktop stands and use them as wall mounts;
- Powering up the system, set the master, bass and surround channel
levels
- Making sure to disable M3D when you want rear channel input
Enjoying!
