Introduction

Review Index: Note: If you just came for the sound part you can skip ahead to page 4.

In Aliens vs Predator you end up in a world with elements from both the Predator and Alien movies where you can be an Alien, Predator or Marine.

While the name indicates the game is an equal mix of alien and predator the actual game is more like Aliens with the option being a predator in the world where aliens and marines fight each other. If you play as a marine or an alien you meet only a few predators during the entire game and most of the environments come from the alien movies so don't expect any thick jungles or any environments from Los Angeles (Predator 2).

The game has no real introduction or any explanation why you ended up here and your goals are as simple as in the movies. That is, as an Alien you hunt the humans while as a marine try to stay alive and get away from this horrible world crawling with aliens and a few Predators. As a predator you end up fighting both a lot of marines and aliens before you find your Predator friend and leave this world.

Through out the game the only form of story will be instructions and messages to the marines that are played on the various monitors scattered around the levels. If you play as a marine this will give you the info what to do next while as a Alien or Predator you will hear where the marines will stop you from going which of course is where you should go to end the level.

Some may complain about the weak story but then most of these movies didn't have much of a story either. What makes this game great is that it not only allows you to experience moving around in dark corridors and be suddenly attacked by an alien from the ceiling. It also allows you to play as an alien or predator with all the unique abilities they had in the movies.
